Springboks stars Faf de Klerk and Jessie Kriel are expected to return to Japan in October. Klerk is currently injured (thigh) while Kriel is on Rugby Championship duty and is in the starting line-up to face Argentina on Saturday.

Centre Yusuke Kajimura, who will captain the team again next season, and prop Takato Okabe are both currently on international duty and are among Japan’s replacements for Saturday’s Pacific Nations Cup final against Fiji.

Kajimura said: “This season we are hoping to grow as a club, targeting the championship we didn't win last season. Thank you for your passionate support. Let’s go and claim the championship this season.”

Yokohama kick off their pre-season fixtures on 19 October against Saitama Panasonic Wild Knights at Kumagaya Sports and Culture Park Rugby Ground B.
