Mitsubishi Dynaboars fly-half James Grayson is set to join Scottish URC side Edinburgh Rugby next season according to English outlet The Times.
Grayson, 27, the son of 2003 World Cup winner Paul Grayson, has made 47 appearances for the struggling Japanese side since joining from Northampton Saints in 2023.
The former England u20s international, who will be on the bench for Sunday’s Kanagawa derby against Yokohama Canon Eagles, has only started two games at fly-half this season with Shun Miyake and Leicester Tigers loanee Charlie Titcombe being preferred by head coach Glenn Delaney.
URC side Edinburgh are poised for a drastic overhaul this summer with Grayson set to join the likes of incoming arrivals Riley Higgins, Louie Chapman and Geordie Gwynn in the Scottish capital.

Grayson, who is now behind fit-again Semisi Masirewa for the Dynaboars’ full-back slot, could still have a significant role to play for the relegation-threatened side this season.
The Sagamihara-based club are currently in the relegation play-off zone with two games remaining in the regular season.
After facing rivals Yokohama - who are one place above them in the table in 11th place - in Tokyo this Sunday, Delaney’s side will host Graham Rowntree’s basement side Urayasu D-Rocks in the final round of the season next week.
The D-Rocks' post-season relegation play-off has been confirmed and they will face division two opposition in May in a bid to preserve their top-flight status.
Grayson’s Dynaboars will need to beat both Yokohama and Urayasu in order to avoid joining the latter in a two-leg showdown against a leading team from Japan’s second tier.
